Wildfire Willie & The Ramblers started in 1985 in Eskilstuna SWEDEN. The bands first attempt was called The Juvonen Brothers- or Jyrki Juvonen on lead guitar and brother Markku on drums. Then, In August 1986 Jan Svensson joined the early lineup as the singer. And finally, in 1990, Anders "Pee Wee" Backberg jumped in on bass and that´s “Where Things Began. Things haven’t been the same since”.
Wildfire Willie & The Ramblers play 50´s rock´n´roll, rockabilly- mixed with hillbilly. The band is a 4-piece which includes vocal, rhythm guitar, lead guitar, drums and bass. Occasionally The Ramblers add piano, saxophone, blues harp, fiddle and steel guitar.
Wildfire Willie & The Ramblers have performed for festivals and events worldwide including Green Bay’s Rockin’ 50s Festival in 2002 as well as the Rockabilly Rave and the Hemsby Rock´n´Roll Weekenders both in England as well as the Denver Colorado Mile High Festival, the Live & Jive festival, the Hultsfred festival (Biggest music event in Sweden). The band has also appeared on numerous European radio and TV shows.
During the summer of 1996, Wildfire Willie & The Ramblers had a successful tour in the U.S and have visited America three times since, most recently playing from New York, Boston, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Chicago, Green Bay and Minneapolis USA!
Wildfire Willie & The Ramblers have numerous European records released and have had the pleasure of supporting American rock n’ roll and rockabilly legends such as artists like: Huelyn Duvall, Billy Lee Riley, Rudy Grayzell, Dale Hawkins, Alvis Wayne, Sleepy LaBeef, Hayden Thompson, Al Ferrier, Teddy Redell, Ray Campi, as well as Johnny Legend.
Wildfire Willie & The Ramblers toured Europe and Scandinavia with Huelyn Duvall throughout the summer of 2003. Then the boys traveled to America and accomplished and mid-west to east coast USA tour with Huelyn Duvall starting in Duvall’s home town, Dallas Texas in October.
2004 brought Wildfire Willie & The Ramblers back to America where they headlined The Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender in April. And in 2005, the guys return to America to play Oneida Casinos Rockin' 50s Festival in Green Bay Wisconsin.
